About the role
Brightloop moves money for 4,000 small businesses across the UK. The payouts team owns everything between a payment landing and the money reaching a merchant's bank account - and it is growing.
What you will do
- Own services in the payouts platform, written in PHP 8.3 and Symfony 7.
- Design ledger and reconciliation flows that never lose a penny.
- Work with Kafka events between payments, risk and payouts.
- Help two mid-level engineers grow.

What you need
- 5+ years building backend services in PHP 5+ years
- Symfony in production
- Payments or fintech experience
- Designing and running MySQL or PostgreSQL at scale
